Barley Wood Walled Garden
Barley Wood Borders
Taking pride in making good quality products - pure apple juice and traditional styles of cider - Barley Wood Orchard do everything themselves and by hand, from picking to pressing and bottling.
They are based in a large wooden roundhouse at the Barley Wood Walled Garden (also home to the Ethicurean Restaurant and a productive organic market garden) just south of Bristol overlooking the Mendip Hills.
They have two beautiful orchards at the walled garden with over 60 varieties of apples, from aromatic Ashmead’s Kernel to the bittersweet Harry Masters Jersey. They also use surplus fruit from local people’s gardens in exchange for juice or cider.
The Cider Barn occasionally opens serving cider and juice to enjoy on the outdoor benches or to takeaway - look out for the ‘Cider Barn Open’ sign by the car park. They aim to be open on Saturday afternoons throughout the summer, and for occasional events (watch this space!),
Get in touch if you are local and interested in stocking their juice or cider, or if you have spare apples!
